Carl Persons

 Mr. Carl Persons is the senior adjunct instructor for the ISA Dignitary and Executive Protection Training program, and a certified law enforcement instructor specializing in dignitary protection accredited with the State of Maryland.
Mr. Persons was an adjunct instructor with the Protective Services Course for Mount Eagle College (2013-2014), and is still a DCJS Personal Protection Specialist-Executive Protection Agent. He also maintains a certification as a Department of Homeland Security TSA ASO-Air Marshal.
Mr. Persons graduated from the United States Secret Service Academy in 1989, serving 15 years with the United States Secret Service. Besides providing protection for the President, Vice President, and designated members of the First Family, and visiting heads of state, Mr. Persons served on the Presidential Advance Team as well as assignments as a senior technician with the Explosives Detection Unit and as an asst. instructor. Mr. Persons also conducted emergency planning for diplomatic locations throughout the Washington DC area, and was a founding member of Emergency Response Team.
On leaving the US Secret Service, Mr. Persons was the Director of Security for the Airlie Center, a 2000 acre specialized and secure location in Virginia. His responsibilities as director included working as a liaison with government agencies, coordinating visits of high level government officials to include Cabinet members, dignitaries, and heads of state. As such he worked directly with the security details of these visitors, and assisted with advance and site surveys as well as coordinating the efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement when necessary.
Mr. Persons is a physical security specialist, and as director, he was also overseeing all aspects of site security. This includes all classified activities and meetings within the accredited facility as well as establishing physical security protocols and systems.
